(aka images I would like to try myself)

I’m a huge fan of black and white images and this looks classy and pretty timeless
I picked this one mainly because I’m a huge fan of Ali Edwards.
Love the backlit effect and it’s black & white
Perspective
Reflections. Love the idea of playing with reflections – water, mirrors, windows, reflective metals
Like the idea of having the camera in shot. this is something different
Relaxed and shows personality.

Reflection
Challenge 1 - Fill the frame
Challenge 2 - All about light
Challenge 3 - Negative space
No filters and no editing

Using leading lines
I am partial to the first photo as my legs are leading the eye to my feet. Not so keen on the second image as it tends to look like the majority of celeb selfies with the arms in shot. Technically though the arms are leading your eye towards the face and background.
-----
Rule of thirds
Using the rule of thirds and placing myself of to the side and showing only half my face. Loving the negative space of this type of image. Would be great for use in a scrapbook as I could add text in the blank space.

Taking better iPhone photos
An accidental reflection. Playing with the rule of thirds and noticed the reflection in the tiles. I like this image because it’s uncluttered.
----
Square photos
I love Instagram and square photos. This time I had a play with filling the image, focusing on my eyes.

Overall thoughts
Still really uncomfortable with taking my own image but slowly learning different techniques I can use to make me like the images a little more. I definitely want to expand on the rule of thirds image for my final project. Also partial to the accidental reflection image too and will play around with this more too.
Persistence is key; don’t stop until you’ve got the image you want.
Stop the comparison. (I really need to remember this one!)
photography style is as individual as the person pressing the shutter, and comparing oneself to a different photographer serves no purpose other than to derail creativity.
Photography for me is one of the ways I can capture a memory, a fleeting moment in time. It can also be fun and be just for the love of a scene or an object or a sunset.
Oh that was a bit deep and meaningful ;) Anyways, I take photos for the love of creating and capturing memories. That's about it really.
This will be my home for all things photography be it photo challenges or courses I'm taking.
Always welcome feedback on my shots but please keep it nice.
Take a look around, read my about page to learn some more about me or my disclaimer page for how I deal with comments, reviews and the like :)
